Overview
The short version: CamCrop does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data or your images. Everything happens locally in your browser.
This Privacy Policy explains how CamCrop ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use our website at www.camcrop.com (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy in the most meaningful way possible — by simply not collecting your data in the first place.
CamCrop is a client-side web application. All image processing is performed using the HTML5 Canvas API directly inside your web browser. No image data, personal information, or usage telemetry is sent to our servers at any point during your session.
Data we collect
We collect the absolute minimum required to operate the website. Below is an honest breakdown:
- Server access logs: When you visit CamCrop, our web server automatically records your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and the pages you request. This is standard behaviour for any web server. These logs are retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes only, then permanently deleted.
- No account data: CamCrop requires no account, login, or registration of any kind. We therefore hold no name, email address, password, or profile data about you.
- No form submissions: There are no contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, or payment forms on CamCrop that capture personal information.
- No analytics tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, or any other third-party behavioural analytics platform. We do not track which shapes you select, how long you use the tool, or what images you crop.
Your images
Your photos are processed entirely inside your browser. They are never uploaded, transmitted, or accessible to us or any third party.
When you use the CamCrop tool, the image you select is loaded directly into your browser's memory using the browser's native FileReader API. All cropping, shape masking, colour adjustments, and export rendering are performed by the HTMLCanvasElement API — a standard feature of every modern web browser.
When you click "Download image", the resulting file is generated entirely within your browser and saved directly to your device. No image data is transmitted to our servers at any stage of this process.
We have no technical ability to access, view, copy, or store any image you use with CamCrop, because the images never reach our infrastructure.
Cookies and local storage
CamCrop does not set any cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics purposes.
We use Google Fonts (loaded from fonts.googleapis.com) to serve the Inter typeface. Google Fonts may set a short-lived cookie or store minimal data to optimise font delivery. We have no control over this, but Google's privacy policy governs that interaction: policies.google.com/privacy.
CamCrop does not use localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, or any other persistent browser storage mechanism for user data. All tool state (selected shape, image, settings) exists only in JavaScript memory and is cleared the moment you close or reload the page.
Third-party services
CamCrop uses a small number of third-party services to deliver the website itself. Each is listed transparently below:
- Google Fonts — Used to load the Inter typeface. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Web hosting provider — Our hosting provider processes server access logs (see Section 2) as a necessary part of serving web pages. They are contractually required to protect this data and may not use it for their own commercial purposes.
We do not use any advertising networks, affiliate trackers, social media pixels, heatmap tools, session recording software, or A/B testing platforms. We do not share any data with data brokers or marketing companies.
Children's privacy
CamCrop is a general-purpose image tool intended for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because CamCrop does not collect personal data from any user, it is inherently safe for use by children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has somehow provided personal information to us, please contact us at privacy@camcrop.com and we will investigate immediately.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR (European Union), UK GDPR, CCPA (California), or other applicable regulations. These rights typically include:
- The right to access personal data we hold about you
- The right to correct inaccurate data
- The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- The right to restrict or object to processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Because CamCrop does not collect or store personal data (beyond server access logs, which do not identify individuals), there is typically no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you believe otherwise, or if you have a privacy-related concern, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will place a notice on the CamCrop homepage.
We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
